Woman and Shadow in a Garden Arch An acrylic painting by Karin Teresa fain copyright 2005. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED I am interested in some transparent images. I am working on found object/recycle art presently. A few pieces are very involved with transparent forms. I will post these as soon as I can get some good photos. My paintings are a mixer of ideas. My monotypes have areas of transparency. I use to use glazing techniques. Then my professor who was an abstract expressionist did not like me to glaze. I changed my style then with my painting and worked with drips and dots of thick paint. It was hard at first but I like the dots because I even use my hands to apply dots with. My approach is experimental and if the painting does not work I sometimes will use a colored glaze to get the loose brushwork to come together,I like this but my painting teacher did not like glazing. Sometimes I use colage materials that overlap. The images may overlap even creating transparent areas. I am a very spontanious artists. I learned this from my teacher an abstract expressionist.
